The farm shop is loved for its locally sourced, fresh produce, making it a hit among environmentally conscious consumers in the UK. Many patrons prefer supporting local businesses, and farm shops often feature goods grown or raised on-site or nearby, fostering eco-friendliness and bolstering local agriculture.

In addition to being environmentally friendly, farm shops boast high-quality produce. With farmers and producers closely overseeing the production process, the result is better-tasting, fresher, and more nutritious food.

These shops also shine with variety, offering a broad array of goods like fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, bread, and more. This one-stop-shop appeal is particularly attractive to customers seeking convenience.

What sets farm shops apart is their personal touch. Often family-run, these businesses offer a tailored experience where customers can interact with farmers or producers, seek advice, and sometimes even tour the farm. This fosters a sense of community and builds trust between customers and the producers.

By choosing farm shops, consumers play a pivotal role in supporting small businesses and nurturing the local economy. This aspect is especially meaningful for those who prioritise backing local jobs and enterprises.

Farm shops in the UK thrive due to their commitment to providing high-quality, locally sourced products, a diverse range of offerings, personalised service, and the opportunity to bolster small businesses and the local economy. In doing so our farm shop and café & tea room have both been awarded gold by Taste of the West with the latter achieving silver from Cornwall Tourism Awards.

All of the above are good reasons to shop with us. And to enhance the offering we are pleased to provide a home delivery service every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Simply visit our online shop to benefit from this option.

Our meat

The beef we supply originates exclusively from our Ruby Red pedigree herd, nourished with feed grown on our farm. We uphold a high standard of animal health, ensuring they enjoy the five freedoms endorsed by the RSPCA: freedom from hunger, thirst, pain, fear, and freedom of movement. Our beef undergoes a minimum 21-day ageing process and was honoured with the National Trust Fine Food Award in 2016. Taste the difference for yourself.

Our cheese

Discover our delightful selection of cheeses sourced from Cornwall's renowned artisans. From Davidstow, we feature cheddars in Mature, Extra Mature Crackler, and Vintage Reserve varieties. Our blue cheeses are crafted by The Cornish Cheese Co, esteemed winners of 'Best British Cheese' at the World Cheese Awards. For brie lovers, Curds & Croust presents Miss Wenna Cornish Brie and Nanny Florrie Goats Brie, both highly recommended. Don't miss The Truffler, another gem from Curds & Croust that impresses connoisseurs. Our counter also showcases semi-mature gouda from the Cornish Gouda Co, along with halloumi, Greek feta, and parmesan for a comprehensive cheese experience.

Bakery

Staying true to our commitment to reduce food miles, we source our traditional bakery goods and artisanal specialty breads from Electric Bakery and Malcom Barnecutt. Daily, our shelves are stocked with bloomers and baps, essential for our popular café lunch offerings. As a Cornish Farm Shop, it's essential to offer the iconic Cornish pasty, and we take it a step further by crafting our own. These freshly baked delights feature our own Red Ruby beef, Boscastle potatoes, and Davidstow Cheddar for our vegetarian option. Our pastry creations extend beyond pasties to include pies, sausage rolls, and quiches, each benefiting from our talented in-house bakers' crisp, homemade pastry. In fact they’re so good our steak pasty, homemade sausages, hand pressed 6oz beef burgers and steak & ale pie all won gold at Taste of the West awards.
